Policy roundtable on social LCA metrics and policy requirements EU Public Procurement rules provide public buyers with great flexibility in the use of social criteria, however too many tenders in the EU are still awarded based on a price-only logic. Some experts might debate that social LCA is now where environmental LCA was 20 years ago, we might also debate on the fact that the methodology is too young but we all agree on the fact that there is a strong request from all parties, businesses, policy makers and society into looking more towards social aspects. S-LCA has an undebatable advantage, is young enough to improve, harmonise so to be able to avoid “social” washing, given by uncoordinated approaches.
